Andrea Lacasia, PharmD, is an accomplished medical professional, with almost 20 years biotech/pharmaceutical industry experience, including extensive Global Medical Affairs, Medical Information, Scientific Communications, Scientific Platforms, Medical Education, Medical Writing, Congress planning, Medical Science Liaison training, Call Center management, and Global product launch experience. She has a diverse biotech/pharmaceutical background, with major emphasis in oncology and rare genetic diseases and has previously worked at Genentech, Agios, and has been at Ultragenyx for almost 3 years as Head of Global Medical Information (MI), Communications and Education. She leads a team of 6 to cover all regions North America, EU, LATAM, and APAC for Global MI and MedEd for the entire Ultragenyx pipeline.

Her professional training was at UCSF for her PharmD followed by a General Pharmacy Practice Residency at NorthShore University Hospital, in Evanston, Illinois. Her clinical experiences span multiple therapeutic areas, including outpatient/inpatient anticoagulation, acute care, infectious diseases, oncology, and general medicine as a clinical pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente in the Bay Area.
