Peter brings over a decade of industry experience largely focused on rare disease. He has held roles or increasing responsibility as a MSL, Medical Director, Clinical Development, and Medical Affairs leadership. Peter currently serves as Head of US Medical Affairs, Rare Blood, at Sanofi. In this role he leads the team of Medical Directors, Field Medical, and Medical Operations toward the development of medical strategy across 5 therapeutic areas. Prior to this role, he held the role of Global Program Team Lead (GPTL) responsible for global cross-functional team oversight on 3 clinical indications in rare disease. He was accountable for the strategic leadership and execution on clinical stage programs from phase 3 through LCM at Alexion/Astra Zeneca. In this role, Peter led the team to key milestones including protocol development, regulatory interactions, study start-up, and post-approval strategy. Peter also brings his experience in leading product launches within Medical Affairs at the global and country level as a Sr Medical Director at Alexion and Medical Director at Shire. Prior to industry, Peter has over 13 years in basic research academic realm with 20+ peer reviewed publications in the scientific areas of neurology, cardiology, nephrology, vascular biology, hematology, metabolic physiology, and immunology. Peter holds a doctorate from the University of Florida and resides in Boston.
